As chief executive partner of Bech-Bruun, Simon Evers Hjelmborg is responsible for the day-to-day management of Bech-Bruun. In recent years, together with the management board, he has been in charge of several organisational and strategic changes that have strengthened Bech-Bruun's market position.
As former head of Bech-Bruun's EU and Competition Law practice group, Simon has in-depth experience with strategic advisory services within all aspects of competition law, including merger control, abuse issues, cartels and syndicates as well as the authorities' handling of matters relative to the EU Commission as well as to the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority.
In addition to his work as chief executive partner, Simon advises public clients on all aspects of the tender process. With both Danish and international clients he is a popular adviser in relation to compliance programmes and the complex EU legislation, where he has in-depth experience in conducting cases about competition, state aid and procurement before the EU courts, the Danish High Courts, the Danish Competition Council, the Danish Competition Appeals Tribunal and the Complaints Board for Public Procurement.
Finally, for a number of years Simon has been a guest lecturer in EU competition law, EU procurement law and privatisation law with the Universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus.
