Jes Anker Mikkelsen is one of Denmark's most recognised lawyers within international law by virtue of his extensive and long-term experience in maritime and transport law, offshore installations, energy and construction, insurance law and international trade. Jes specialises in court and arbitration proceedings and is a sought-after arbitrator and mediator.

Jes has represented clients in numerous court and arbitration proceedings involving maritime, transport and insurance law issues and has acted as mediator in quite a few cases in Denmark and abroad. He is well-known for his focused and professionally well-founded argumentation, but also for his sense of humour which is highly appreciated by clients as well as opposing parties. 

Jes's expertise includes transport of cargo, contracts of carriage, issues of collision, grounding and salvaging, insurance contract coverage, indemnity insurance, P&I, Hull & Machinery, insurance regulatory issues as well as insurance brokerage. He also advises on international trade and is a popular speaker both in Denmark and internationally. 

In addition, Jes is a member of Bech-Bruun's Cross-Border Insolvency Shipping Team, advising on reorganisation in Denmark and abroad.
